I keep getting "Server Timed Out" errors when I try and upload my clips. Who should I contact?
We had a few people report errors while they were trying to upload submissions to our contest site. We have not been able to determine what is causing these errors but in every case, the user was able to upload their submission successfully even though they received an error telling them otherwise. If you are sure you are following the submission guidelines and you have used the correct file type extensions (.jpg and .mov), just send an email to monica.zevallos@fox.com and let her know your name, the title of the clip you uploaded and the time and date. She will then check to see if it was successfully uploaded or not.
Is this contest open to residents outside the United States?
This contest is only open to residents of the United States. We hope to open up future contests to international submissions but because this is our first contest we just didn't have the time to sort out the legal requirements.
When will the winner be notified?
The submission deadline ends at midnight on July 20th, 2008. We will notify a winner sometime during the week days of July 28th-August1st, 2008. We will post the winning entry on the foxsportsdesign.com website and we will only notify the winner.
Are there any prizes for second and third place?
No. We only have prizes for first (1st) place. The winner will get all 3 software titles listed.
Can I submit more than one entry?
Yes. You just have to upload each submission separately. We would also prefer that each new entry contain a different concept and art direction from your previously submitted entries. For example, if you used a white background in your first animation and then changed it to a black background for your second animation, we would consider these as the same basic entry.
Why is the FOX Sports design department having this contest?
FOX is interested in identifying and attracting the top talent in all fields and this contest is one way for the design group to get in touch with artists they might not have come across through normal business channels. So, in essence, this contest is a recruiting tool. We want to find the best designers and we want them to work with us.
